The Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Commemorative Service is the hallmark of the King Holiday Observance. The church service is held on the Federal Holiday at Ebenezer Baptist Church located near The King Center.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III,Senior Pastor of Friendship West Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. The service is an ecumenical endeavor, engaging members of various religious traditions, and state national and international governments. On this day, The King Center encourages the world to engage in volunteer service in tribute to the work and life of Dr. King.

The Commemorative Service Choir is comprised of members from the Choruses of Morehouse and Spelman Colleges, Wendell P Whalum Community Chorus, The Atlanta Symphony Archestra Chorus and the Choirs of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

WAGA-TV/Fox-5 will be presenting the live telecast of the Commemorative Service for the thirty-ninth consecutive year.
